Ascenseur pour l’échafaud - Miles Davis
On the night of December 4 to 5, 1957, at the studio of the Parisian post, musicians celebrate the marriage of jazz and film noir. Improvising live on the images of Louis Malle, Miles Davis and his men install the tragedy there. The famous sequence in which Jeanne Moreau strolls down the Champs-Elysées at night owes much to the inimitable sound of her trumpet, Miles' music giving the entire work its dark twilight atmosphere.
