On its front, the t-shirt features a colorful, vintage-style screen print around the heart: "Francofolies La Rochelle." This red, pink, and green sunset logo is a vibrant tribute to the sunset over the port of La Rochelle, where the festival has been held every year since its inception.

Inspired by the Quebec "Francofêtes," Jean-Louis Foulquier created the Francofolies de La Rochelle. He wanted the festival to be French-speaking and, above all, cosmopolitan, where established musicians would mingle with up-and-coming artists. The first edition took place in July 1985. Subsequent editions would become veritable breeding grounds for French-speaking artists.
