Public Enemy is an American hip-hop group formed in Long Island, New York, in 1985. The group consists of Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Professor Griff, DJ Lord, and a few other past members. They are famous for their politically charged lyrics, addressing topics such as racism, social injustice, and political issues. Their iconic album "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" (1988) is often considered one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time.
Public Enemy has had a major influence on hip-hop and music in general, and is recognized as one of the pioneers of conscious rap.
